Music for Meditation / Welcome and Announcements / Prelude

Opening Praises                                      “He Is Lord”                                     CCLI # 11156644

He is Lord, He is Lord! He is Risen from the dead and He is Lord.

Every knee shall bow, every tongue confess, that Jesus Christ Is Lord!

Salutation and Call to Worship   Luke 24:1-7; Psalm 98:1-2                               Rev. Hausler

On the first day of the week, at early dawn, they went to the tomb, taking the spices they had prepared. And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. While they were perplexed about this, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel. And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, that the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.”

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations!

*Opening Hymn                       “Christ the Lord is Risen Today”                            Hymnal #277

*Opening Prayer and Confession of Faith                                2 Corinthians 4:8-9,14,16-18

Christian, what is your hope on this side of glory?

“We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed…because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus. Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all! So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal!”

*Hymn                                                    “In Christ Alone”                                   CCLI # 11156644

Psalm                                           “Create In Me a Clean Heart”                           Psalm 51:10-12 CCLI # 11156644

Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. (Repeat)

Restore unto me, the joy of Thy salvation, and renew a right spirit within me.

“Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all!”

*Opening Prayer and Confession of Faith                                        Heidelberg Catechism Q. 45

What does the "resurrection" of Christ profit us?  First, by his resurrection he has overcome death, that he might make us partakers of that righteousness which he had purchased for us by his death; secondly, we are also by his power raised up to a new life; and lastly, the resurrection of Christ is a sure pledge of our blessed resurrection.

“Behold! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed. For this perishable body must put on the imperishable,  and this mortal body must put on immortality... thanks be to God, who gives us the victory  through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast,  immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord,  knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

    1 Corinthians 15:51-53,57-58

Scripture Song                “These Things I Have Spoken Unto You”                          John 16:33
