*Opening Prayer and the Lord’s Prayer                                            Mr. J. Kim, Intern

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever, Amen.

*Confession of Faith                                     2 Corinthians 4:8-9,14,16-18

Christian, what is your hope on this side of glory?  “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed…because we know that the one who raised the Lord Jesus from the dead will also raise us with Jesus. Therefore, we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all! So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal!”

Christian, what does the Bible say about the testing of God and the temptation of Satan? The most wise, righteous, and gracious God does oftentimes leave, for a season, his own children to manifold temptations, and the corruption of their hearts, to chastise them for their former sins, or to discover unto them the hidden strength of corruption and deceitfulness of their hearts, that they may be humbled; and, to raise them to a more close and constant dependence for their support upon himself, and to make them more watchful against all future occasions of sin, and for sundry other just and holy ends.

Hymn                 “There Is No Name So Sweet on Earth”                  Hymnal #178

Prayer for the Body of Christ
